Sustainable Inclusion and Development Services
Welcome to Sustainable Inclusion and Development Services (SIDS), a community-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities across Uganda’s pastoral and cross-border regions. Founded in Amudat District, SIDS works to improve access to quality education, healthcare, clean water, sustainable livelihoods, environmental conservation, peacebuilding, and humanitarian assistance.
SIDS was founded in response to the social, economic, and environmental challenges facing pastoral communities in Amudat District and the Uganda–Kenya border region. For many years, these communities have experienced drought, poverty, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to essential services, and recurring humanitarian crises.
Recognizing the need for sustainable and community-driven solutions, local development professionals came together to establish SIDS. Today, the organization continues to work hand in hand with communities, government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive development, strengthen resilience, and improve livelihoods.
At SIDS, we believe that communities are the primary drivers of their own development. Our approach is community-led, inclusive, and sustainable, ensuring that local people actively participate in identifying priorities, planning interventions, implementing projects, and monitoring results.
We promote partnerships, local ownership, gender equality, and social inclusion while integrating humanitarian assistance with long-term development solutions. Through accountability, innovation, and evidence-based programming, we strive to build resilient communities capable of shaping their own future.
