What We Do

Creating Opportunities Inspiring Sustainable Rural Development

Sustainable Inclusion and Development Services (SIDS) works with vulnerable and marginalized communities in Amudat District and the Uganda–Kenya border region to promote inclusive, sustainable, and community-led development. Our programmes are designed to improve livelihoods, protect human rights, strengthen resilience, and create opportunities for children, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and pastoral communities.

Our work focuses on the following areas:

Sustainable Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment

📚 Education:

  • We promote access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities through school support, early childhood development, scholarships, teacher training, and youth empowerment programmes.

🏥 Health:

  • We improve community health and well-being by supporting maternal and child health services, nutrition programmes, disease prevention, health education, and community outreach initiatives.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

💧 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH):

  • We expand access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene services to improve health, reduce water-borne diseases, and promote healthy communities.

🌾 Livelihoods:

  • We strengthen household incomes and economic resilience through sustainable agriculture, livestock development, savings groups, entrepreneurship training, and women’s and youth economic empowerment programmes.
Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion

🌍 Climate Change:

  • We promote climate resilience and environmental sustainability through tree planting, natural resource management, climate-smart agriculture, and environmental conservation initiatives.

🕊️ Peacebuilding:

  • We foster peaceful coexistence and social cohesion through dialogue, conflict resolution, community engagement, and cross-border cooperation programmes.
Girls' Education and Women's Empowerment

🚑 Humanitarian Response:

  • We provide emergency assistance and disaster risk reduction support to communities affected by drought, conflict, and other humanitarian crises.

🛡️ Child Protection :

  • We protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices by promoting safeguarding, child rights awareness, and safe environments.
Our Partners

⚖️ Gender Equality :

  • We promote gender equality and women’s empowerment by supporting equal opportunities, leadership, economic participation, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
